El Cajon Valley Gem & Mineral Society, Inc. is a club made up of people, who share an interest in the Lapidary
Arts. Some just like to shape and polish rocks, some like to rock hound, and some make fine jewelry, or facet semi-precious
gems. You will find an interest, and someone to teach you all about it. Classes are taught at the shop by members skilled in the
area of interest.
ECVGMS is proud of it's community involvement through participation in local events,classroom visits ,and our annual show .
Our club meets on the second Friday of each month, (except December) at 7:00 PM at the Heritage of the Americas Museum,
12110 Cuyamaca College Dr. West, (just off Jamacha Blvd. opposite Albertsons Shopping Center).
Guests are always welcome!
We maintain a fully equipped shop and provide instruction in lapidary,casting, and silver construction. The use of the shop is free
for the personal use of our members,though we do ask for a nominal donation to help defray the cost of materials and shop
maintenance.
The "TIGER EYE'S" is a club within our club intended for youngsters from eight to seventeen years of age. They meet the
second and fourth Saturday of the month at our shop. Membership for a TIGER EYE is $5.00 a year and a parent or sponsor
must be a member of ECVGMS and accompany the youth to the shop.
